On June 1, 1847, John Perry, Liberty County, gifted to his daughter Mary Ann and her husband Flournoy Sapp, also of Liberty County, “one negro slave named Nancy and her male child named Sam.” Witnessed by D. Zoucks, J.P., R.Q. Andrews, J.P. Recorded on June 9, 1847, J.S. Bradwell, Clerk.
