Enslaved Persons Named: Rachel, Sinah [or Tinah or Jinah], John, Priscilla

On June 1, 1847, William Maxwell, Liberty County, sold to John Jones, Liberty County, for $1200 “the following property to wit, a negro woman named Rachel aged forty ?seven? years, Sinah [or Tinah or Jinah] the daughter of Rachel aged eighteen years, John son of Rachel aged ten years, and Priscilla daughter of Rachel aged eight years.” Witnessed by Abiel Winn, Joseph Jackson. Recorded by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk, on June 5, 1847.
