Georgia, Liberty County } Know all men by these presents that I Charles B. Jones for and in consideration of having sold the woman Rose in this deed mentioned, with the consent of the trustees, said Rose being a diseased woman, and for the farther consideration of five dollars to me in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have bargained sold released and conveyed unto Joseph A. Anderson and James N. Jones trustees within named for my wife Marion S. Jones, and by these presents doth bargain release and convey unto the said Trustees Joseph A. Anderson and James N. Jones, a certain negro girl slave named Rachael, appraised three hundred dollars, aged about thirteen years old, in lieu and place of the said Negro woman Rose, sold for the same amount. To Have and to hold the said negro girl slave Rachael unto the said Joseph A. Anderson and James N. Jones & their survivors, and the Heirs Executors Administrators and assigns of such survivors of them, in trust to, for, and upon the within named uses trusts & conditions, precisely as are mentioned in the deed of marriage settlement to which mention has been made, and which deed acommpanied these presents warranting and defending said negro girl Rachael against every claim whatsoever. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal this second day February Eighteen hundred and forty seven. [Signed] Chas. [Charles] Berrien Jones. Georgia, Liberty County } We Joseph A. Anderson and James N. Jones trustees to the marriage settlement of Charles B. Jones and Marion S. Anderson his wife, do accept the above deeded girl Rachael in trust for the particular uses trusts benefits and conditions precisely as are expressed in said marriage settlement dated 19th January 1843, as a just equivalent for the negro woman Rose above named, to the sale of whom we did consent.
