On June 14, 1846, Bartholomew A. Busby, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1853.35 to F.R. Whitwell, of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, “the following negroes, to wit: Antoney [alt: Anthony or Toney], Sam, Titus and Sylvia: four slaves, to have and to hold.” Witnessed by W. Harrison, J.S. Bradwell, Clk. Supr Court. Recorded on August 31, 1846, by J.S. Bradwell, Clk.
