Rose, Charles, Patty, Rosetta, Jenny

On February 27, 1846, Benjamin W. Allen, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1100 to Joseph W. Roberts [alt: Robarts] “the following named negro slaves to wit Rose aged about forty years Charles aged about twenty three years Patty aged about eighteen years Rosetta aged about two years and Jenny [alt: Ginny] aged about six years…” Witnessed by J.S. Norman, Geo. [George] W. Dunham, J.I.C. Recorded on May 16, 1846, by J.S. Bradwell, Clk.

On November 28, 1846, in Savannah, G.W. Anderson & Brother released “the three following slaves specified therein viz Rose, Jenny & Charles” from a “mortgage of B.W. Allen to Joseph W. Robarts recorded 16 May 1846 in Book M, folio 455 & 456 and transferred by Joseph W. Robarts to us.” Recorded on November 30, 1846, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk.
