On March 3, 1846, William C. Stevens, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $400 to A. Porter, Savannah, “the following named negro property, James Lilly, and her children Doll and Tyra, and a negro man Jim.” Witnessed by Chas. [Charles] Berrien Jones, G.W. Dunham, J.I.C. Recorded on March 14, 1846, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk. [NOTE: Written on this deed was “Cancelled and satisfied in full this 2d February 1847. The clerk of the Superior Court in Liberty County is hereby authorised to enter satisfcation on the face of the record. A. Porter. Recorded 2d March 1847. J.S. Bradwell, Clerk.”]
