On March 5, 1846, W.E.W. Quarterman and John S. Norman used as collateral on a promissory note to the executors of John Lambert’s estate (Thomas Mallard, E. Stacy, W.Q. Baker, W. Jones & John B. Mallard) “the following named slaves with the issue of the females to wit, Charlotte about forty years of age and Rose about twenty two years of age.” Witnessed by Irwin Rahn, S.A. Fraser. Recorded on March 14, 1846, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk. [NOTE: Written on this deed was “Satisfied March 3d 1851, E. Stacy. Act. Exor Est. Lambert. Recorded this 3d March 1851. J.S. Bradwell, Clerk.”]
