Enslaved Persons Named: Joe, Abram, Hillington, Stephen, Dianna, Peggy, Jerry [or Jenny, alt: Ginny], Phoebe

On October 24, 1832, Henry W. Bacon, of Jefferson County in the territory of Florida, transferred to his wife, Julia Ann C. Bacon, and her trustee Edward Way, of Liberty County, for “a certain permanent maintenance and support” not to be subject to any of his debts “the following tract or parcel of land to wit, the west half of the north east quarter of section four, Township no. one range no. four, south and east, together with all and singular, the rights hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto in any wise belonging; also the following negro slaves to wit Joe aged twenty five years, Abram aged twenty years Hillington aged six, Stephen aged five years, Diannah aged ten years, Peggy aged thirteen years, Jerry [or Jenny] aged seventeen years, Phoebe aged twenty seven years…” Witnessed by Wm. [William] R. Taylor, Wm. Budd. Recorded on March 23, 1846, by [Liberty County Superior Court Clerk] J.S. Bradwell.
