On April 7, 1846, Francis M. Scarlet, executor of the estate of Pascal Nicolau of Glynn County, sold to Moses Jones, of Liberty County, “the following negro slaves to wit Makia, William, Mariah and Jinny [alt: Ginny or Jenny], after they were put up for public sale on the first Friday in April before the court house in Brunswick, Glynn County. Recorded on April 13, 1846, by [Liberty County Superior Court Clerk] J.S. Bradwell.
