[Begin Transcript] State of Georgia, Liberty County } This indenture made this tenth day of April Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred & forty five, between Ann E. Earle of the county of Liberty and state of Georgia of the one part and Charles T. Chapman of the county of Chatham and state aforesaid and Elijah F. Chapman of the county of Liberty and state aforesaid of the second part witnesseth that whereas at the marriage of Sarah A. Mara now Sarah A. Chapman with Elijah Chapman there was a deed of marriage contract conveying to one Charlton Hines of the county of Liberty and state of Georgia and James C. Mara of the state of Massachusetts in Trust for the said Sarah A. Mara now Sarah A. Chapman a considerable amount of property both personal and real that the said Ann E. Earle was the guardian of her daughter the said Sarah A. and loaned the money which belonged to her daughter to individuals upon her own responsibility, that she has been unable to collect said property or money and being unwilling that her daughter should lose said money, it is her wish to substitute property in the stead as well in consideration of the premises as also of the sum of one hundred dollars to her paid by the said Charles T. and Elijah Chapman the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted bargained and sold and conveyed and doth by these presents grant bargain sell and convey unto the said Charles T. and Elijah their heirs and assigns the following property to wit one lot in the village of Walthourville containing twenty five acres of land with the improvements[,] the plantation in the county of Liberty known as Edgely containing five hundred acres more or less, bounded by lands of N. Varnedoe W. Jones and C.C. Jones with all the improvements upon the plantation as also the stock of hogs and cattle, two work horses and wagon eight iron foot gins one cotton whipper, one barouche and harness, likewise two lots of land in the town of Sunbury boundaries unknown together with the following negro slaves Clarissa, Derry, Patience, Chloe, Anny [alt: Annie; or Amy], Patty, Dickey [alt: Dicky], Jerry and Prince with the increase of the females, to have and to hold the said bargained premises and property unto them the said Charles T. and Elijah, their heirs and assigns to their proper use benefit and behoof in fee simple forever. In trust however for the said Sarah A. Chapman and to carry out and accomplish the intention herein before declared and fully set forth, it being the ardent wish of the said Ann E. Earle to protect her daughter from the unforeseen calamities to which all men are subject; the said Ann E. Earle having by this indenture made the said Charles T. and Elijah trustees of the property conveyed, requests the Superior Court of the county in which she may reside, the said Sarah A. should she survive the said Trustees, to appoint at her request some other suitable persons to act in her behalf. 

In testimony whereof the said Ann E. Earle hath hereunto set her hand and affixed her seal the day and year first above written.
