On January 9, 1844, Joseph S. Baker, of Greene County, guardian of William B. Bennett minor, used as collateral on a promissory note of $300 to Joseph Quarterman, planter, “a negro woman by name of Hannah about twenty four years of age.” Witnessed by Susan Stacy, Mary Spencer, Richard S. Baker. Recorded on February 20, 1844, by E. Way, Clerk.
