On March 28, 1843, Oliver Stevens sold to John S. Fleming for $500 “for a negro man named Dick which I have sold him this day.” Witnessed by Thos. W. Norman, Thos. W. Quarterman, J.P.L.C. Recorded on February 6, 1844, by E. Way, Clerk.
