On May 11, 1843, Stephen L. Collins and Sarah Ann, his wife, via her trustees Henry Alwood and Alexander Mitchel, sold to H.J. Ripley for $800 “a certain negro slave named Clarissa aged about thirty two years…” Witnessed by Samuel Palmer, J.I.C.M.C. [NOTE: Not clear which county M.C. is.] Recorded on October 6, 1843, by E. Way, Clerk [of Liberty County Superior Court]. [NOTE: Recorded in Liberty County but not clear where sale took place.]
