Marriage Contract (Floyd/Hendry)

Enslaved Persons Named: Will

On April 3, 1843, Jesse Floyd and Elizabeth A. Hendry, both of Liberty County, entered into a marriage contract, with John A. Hendry and Enoch D. Hendry as her trustees. Put into the trust was “one negro man named Will about fifty years of age her entire stock of cattle & hogs in her proper mark & brand two bay horses one cart & one riding wagon beds & furniture together with the tract or piece of land on which she resides…” Witnessed by Randolph Floyd, Jas. R. Bird, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on June 9, 1843, by E. Way Clerk.
