On June 20, 1840, William B. Gaulden, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $427.60 to John W. Anderson and George W. Anderson, operating under the name firm of G.W. Anderson & Brother, “the two negro slaves named Flander & Francis…” Witnessed by Francis Sorrel, J.I.C.C.C., Robert H. Griffin. Recorded on May 5, 1843, by E. Way, [Liberty County Superior Court] Clerk. [NOTE: Written on this deed was “The clerk will please mark the mortgage of Wm. B. Gaulden to us for two negroes satisfied. G.W. Anderson & Brother. Savannah 24 Jany 1845. Recorded 13th May 1845. J.S. Bradwell, Clk.”]
