On April 9, 1853, Thomas K. Dunham, Camden County, gifted to Joseph A. Anderson, Liberty County, in trust for George R. and Mary L. Anderson, “one negro girl Slave named Eliza.” Witnessed by W. Smith, J.H. Helveston, Ordinary [of Camden County]. Below the deed was written: “Georgia, Liberty County } I, Joseph A. Anderson accept the trust delegated. April 1853.” Recorded on June 16, 1853, by [Liberty County Superior Court] Clerk S.A. Fraser.
