On November 13, 1852, in Chatham County, Sarah Bird, of Liberty County, gifted to her daughter Georgia Ann E. Hines, via her trustee James J. Hines of Chatham County, “one negro girl named Emma a Slave…” Witnessed by Thos. [Thomas] R. Hines and Claudius C. Wilson. Recorded in Liberty County on November 22, 1853, by [Liberty County Superior Court] Clerk S.A. Fraser.
