Enslaved Persons Named: Isreal
On July 11, 1853, James N. Jones sold to Andrew M. Jones, both of Liberty County, for $800 “the following property to wit a certain negro fellow named Isreal [alt: Israel], about twenty six years of age of dark complexion, which negro fellow I warrant to be sound and well in body and mind and to be a slave for life.” Witnessed by W.P. Girardeau, S.A. Fraser, C.S.C. Recorded on July 12, 1853, by S.A. Fraser, Clerk.
