On December 13, 1841, Sam’l [Samuel] Baker acknowledged receipt of $400 from Jacob Howard in full payment for “a certain negro girl by the name of Grace…” Witnessed by Z.L. Baggs, J.P. Recorded on April 27, 1853, by Liberty County Superior Court Clerk S.A. Fraser.
