Enslaved Persons Named: Prime

On April 6, 1853, Sarah Jane Way, administrator of the estate of Nathaniel J. Way, Liberty County, sold to Charlton Hines for $375 “the negro Prime,” who was put up for public sale in front of the Hinesville courthouse “between the legal hours of sale” after the Liberty County Court of Ordinary ordered the “sale of the negroes of said estate of Nathaniel J. Way.” Witnessed by Wm. N. Way, Wm. F. Way. Recorded on April 9, 1853.
