“Georgia, Liberty County } This indenture made this 20th day of January 1853, between J.S. Bradwell of the one part and Jacob Thiess Sheriff of said County of the other part witnesseth that whereas the said James S. Bradwell is desirous of taking out of jail a certain boy called Simon and whereas the said Sheriff requires good security for the redelivery of said boy Simon when required – Now therefore the said J.S. Bradwell hereby delivers into possession of the said Sheriff his boy Andrew a wheelwright and blacksmith so that if the said Simon is not forthcoming when he shall be thereunto required, then the boy Andrew shall be bona fide the property of said Sheriff to do with him as he shall see fit. Witness my hand and seal this day and year first above written.” Signed by J.S. Bradwell. Witnessed by W. Harrison, W.T. Morgan. Probated by W. Harrison on January 20, 1853. Recorded on January 20, 1853. [NOTE: Written on this deed was: “Satisfied this May 4th 1853. Jacob Thiess. C.C. Andrews, Dep. Clerk L.C.”]
