On January 2, 1850, Enoch Daniel and Moses W. Way used as collateral on a promissory note of $1100 to the executors of John Lambert’s estate (Thos. Mallard, E. Stacy, W.Q. Baker, W. Jones & John B. Mallard) “the following named Slaves, with the issue of the females, viz Edmund about twenty four years old & John & Jonas about twenty years & Nancy & Katy about twenty five years old.” Witnessed by E.?J? Butler, D. Zoucks J.P. Recorded on January 2, 1850, by John E. Fraser, Deputy C.L.C. [NOTE: Written on this deed was: “Satisfied in full. March 3d 1863 Jno. B. Mallard, Ex’or Jno. Lambert. Entered this 3d March 1863. S.A. Fraser, Clerk.”]
