On January 14, 1850, Gideon McGowen sold to Joseph F. McGowen, both of Liberty County, for $500 “the following slaves to wit: Grace Dianna Frederick John Tenah and her children, Jane and infant Willowby and her children Rosena Louisa Susan and Thomas and Pollydore.” Witnessed by M.J. Moody, J.S. Bradwell, Clerk. Recorded on January 25, 1850, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk. 

On 1 January, 1850, Joseph F. McGowen used as collateral on a promissory note of $425 to Wm. B. Gaulden “the following slaves to wit., Frederick John Paul Willoughby Rosina Louisa Susan an infant of Willoughby Grace Dianna & her infant child Tenah and her children Jane and another infant.” Witnessed by Jno. S. Smith, Gideon McGowen before J.S. Bradwell, Clerk, on January 14, 1850. Recorded on January 25, 1850, by J.S Bradwell, Clerk.
