On May 8, 1849, Henry W. Bacon, his wife Julia Bacon, and her trustee Edward Way, all of Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $350 to Charlton Hines, executor of Susannah Sanford’s estate, “two certain negro slaves to wit Jimmy a man about sixty years of age and a boy by the name of William…” Witnessed by Wm. Harrison, J.S. Bradwell, Clerk. Recorded on May 19, 1849, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk. [NOTE: Cancelled 10 June 1850. C. Hines, Exor. Recorded 10th June 1850, J.S. Bradwell, Clerk.]
