Screven, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1100 to Mrs. Barbara Screven “the following negro slaves Big Charles, Abram, June, Young Lyssy, Peter, Robert…” Witnessed by Thos. S. Mallard, B.S. Screven. Probated by Thos. S. Mallard. [NOTE: The pages prior to this have detailed information about financial agreements among Mrs. Barbara Screven, based on her inheritance from the “estate of Golphin,” Thomas S. Mallard, and William E. Screven, also spelled Scriven.] [NOTE: Written on this deed was “Satisfied B.R. Screven. Walthourville, June 19, 1850. Recorded 19th June 1850, J.S. Bradwell, Clerk.]
