Enslaved Persons Named: Lindy Louisa

On July 6, 1842, Eliza A. Phelps, Liberty County, sold for $120 to Joseph McGowen “the following named slave with her future issue and increase to wit Lindy Louisa, the said Lindy Louisa having been conveyed to me by Mrs. Susan S. Quarterman dated the seventeenth day of September” 1838. Witnessed by W. Spencer, W.B. Fleming Not. Pub. Recorded on July 22, 1849, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk.
