“Georgia, Liberty County } Whereas James Wilson Winn in his lifetime on the [blank] day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & fifty two by deed purchased from Mrs. Mary Bacon her lifetime estate in the following slaves to wit Joe, Frank, July, Abram, Ned, William Toney, and James, Judy & her children Joshua and Anna, Patty and her infant child named Sam, Peggy and her child Sally, Nelly and her children Phillis, Frank, Amos and Muriah Louissa and her children Nany Mary & Josephine, little Rose & her children Sharper & Frank, Sophia and her infant child named Mary Jenny & her children Billy, Alex, and Prentice old Rose and her granddaughter Fancy, and whereas the said Mrs. Mary Bacon has departed this life and whereas it is considered that the said property doth legally revert to the heirs of Peter Winn Sen. formerly of said County deceased and whereas Abial Winn of said County hath taken out letters of Administration de bonis non cum testimento annexo upon the Estate of Peter Winn Sen. aforesaid for the purpose of dividing the said property among the legal heirs and hath demanded said property of Thomas W. Fleming, Qualified Executor of James WIlson Winn deceased now then these presents do witness that the said Thomas W. Fleming, Executor as aforesaid ahth this day delivered over to Abial Winn administrator as aforesaid the said Slaves surviving (Alex and Sam and Louissa’s Mary and Sophia’s Mary having died some time since) with their increase and named as follows Joe, Big Frank, July Abram Ned, William Toney James Judy, Joshua Anna Patty & her child John Peggy Sally, Nelly, Phillis Nelly’s Frank Amos, Mariah, Louisa, Nanny, Mary Jane Dye, Josephine, Little Rose, Sharper Rose’s Frank Sophia and child Elijah Jenny Billy Prentice old Rose, Fancy Peter Clara’s Penedo, Affy, Emeline and Tom forty one in number (41) being the total number of the negroes surviving with the increase of the females in possession of the estate of James Wilson Winn purchased from Mrs. Mary Bacon during her natural life, and the said Thomas W. Fleming executor as aforesaid as the Representative of said Estate is hereby released and discharged from all and further liabilities and responsibility so far as the estate of peter Winn is concerned by virtue of these presents.” Dated September 7, 1859.
