On January 26, 1858, Thomas B. Wheeler and Henry R. Wheeler, Liberty County, sold for $500 to “Augustus O. Bacon (a minor), now of Troup County, all the right title and interest which we have or may hereafter have by virtue of the will of Thomas Bacon Sen. deceased or otherwise in the following property to wit. Harry a negro man about thirty years old, Zett a woman about 40 years old and her children Ceaser [alt: Caesar], Jackson Tom and Chloe also Nancy Toby and Jackson.” Witnessed by Thos. J. Bacon, W.E.W. Quarterman, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on December 21, 1859, by S.A. Fraser, Clerk.
