On an unspecified date, Matilda Baggs, McIntosh County, sold to Hampton C. Parker, Liberty County, for $1300 “a negro woman named Mary of black complexion about forty two years of age and a negro boy named Henry also of black complexion about thirteen years of age.” I do covenant with the said Hampton C. Parker that…the said negroes are slaves born…” Witnessed by H.F. Horn, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on January 4, 1860, by S.A. Fraser, C.S.C.L.C.
