Deed of Gift (Dasher)

Enslaved Persons Named: Rose, Flemmon, Sarenia, Will

On November 23, 1855, Joshua Dasher, Tattnal County, gave to his wife Mary C. Dasher “the following negro slaves Rose, Flemmon, Sarenia and Will” “for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which he has and bears to his said wife.” She was to possess them during her natural life, and then her son William Harrison of Hinesville, Liberty County, was to inherit him on her death. Witnessed by Sheldon P. Smith, John M. Grace. Probated by Sheldon P. Smith on December 6, 1855, in Tattnal County before John M. Dasher, J.P. Recorded on November 4, 1858 by S.A. Fraser, C.S.C.L.C. [Clerk, Superior Court Liberty County].
