On April 4, 1856, David A. Miller, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $2334.36 to George W. Walthour, also of Liberty County, “the following negro slaves viz Judy, Cudjo, William, Sary, Lindy, Jack, Hannah, Jennett, Ceasar [Caesar], Lilly, Charles, George, and Tirah.” Witnessed by E.A. Fleming, W.B. Fleming, Judge E.D. Georgia. Recorded on April 15, 1856, by S.A. Fraser, Clerk. [NOTE: Written on the note was “Satisfied 4 Feby 1864. [Signed] Andrew Walthour. Entered this 6 Feby 1864. S.A. Fraser, Clerk.”]
