Enslaved Persons Named: Abram, Lidia, Quamner, Betsey, Doll

On March 1, 1855, William F. Way and Edmond B. Way, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1557.27 to the executors of John Lambert’s estate “the following property to wit, Abram, Lidia, Quamner, Betsey, Doll, with the issue of the females.” The executors named were Thomas Mallard, Ezra Stacy, William Q. Baker, William Jones and John B. Mallard. Witnessed by M.E. Stacy, R.Q. Stacy, W.E.W. Quarterman, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on June 12, 1855, by S.A. Fraser, Clerk. [NOTE: The deed was marked “Satisfied in full W. Jones. Acty Exor. Est. J. Lambert. Entered this 23rd August 1860. Jesse Brewer C.S.C.L.C.”]
