On January 23d, 1856, Mary B. Spencer, of Liberty County, sold for $450 to Saml. B. Spencer, of Thomas County, “a certain negro woman Cate a Slave aged about 35 years.” Witnessed by Sarah S. Spencer, William S. Norman, Not. Pub. Recorded January 26, 1856, by S.A. Fraser, Clerk.
