“Rec’d Hinesville, Liberty County, Georgia, of John P. Hines Executor & Sarah Jane Hines Executrix of the last Will and Testament of Charlton Hines deceased, the following property to wit: negro slaves Prince, Lucy, Caroline, Daphne, Frank, Emmanuel & Daniel, and all that tract of land which I now cultivate situate in the county of Liberty formerly belonging to Simon Fraser Sen’r together with another tract situate in Said County and lying between the above mentioned tract, and lands belonging to the Est. of William G. Martin, and also a promissory note for five hundred dollars: being the full amount of property real & personal to which I am entitled under the will of my deceased father, Charlton Hines.” [Signed by] R.C. Hines. Witnessed by J.W. Girardeau, Jacob Thiess, W.P. Girardeau O.L.C. in Hinesville on March 8, 1864. Recorded on March 11 1864 by Jesse Brewer, C.S.C.L.C.
