Enslaved Persons Named: Moses

Isaiah Beasley of Liberty County used as collateral on a debt of $50 to S.A. Fraser, also of Liberty County, “a negro boy named Moses about the age of eleven years and of black complexion.” Beasley warranted that “the said Negro Moses is a slave born that he is in sound health both in body & mind…” Witnessed on April 4, 1861, by W.P. Girardeau, Not. Pub., and Jesse Brewer. Recorded on May 27, 1861 by Jesse Brewer, Clerk.
