On December 31, 1861, Leander L. Varnedoe, Liberty County, sold to John B. Mallard, Liberty County, for $300 “a certain negro slave named Milly about fifty years of age…” Witnessed by W. Jones, E. Stacy, W.Q. Baker. Probated by Ezra Stacy before S.A. Fraser on January 1, 1862. Recorded on January 10, 1862, by S.A. Fraser, C.S.C.L.C.
