Enslaved Persons Named: Hagar, Gilbert, Margaret, Billy

John S. Fleming, Liberty County, used as collateral on April 20, 1861, on a debt of $700 to Peter W. Fleming, guardian for Robt. H. Walthour, both of Liberty County: “”the following named negro slaves (viz): Hagar aged about twenty two, Gilbert aged eight years, Margaret aged six years, and Billy aged one year, with the issue of the females.” Witnessed by H.M. Stevens, Josiah H. Law, S.J. Jones. Probated by H.M. Stevens before William S. Norman, J.I.C.L.C., on April 29, 1861. Recorded on May 17, 1861, by Jesse Brewer, Clerk.
