“Received, Liberty County, on October 24th 1859, of my father, James Darsey, five negro Slaves, to wit: Abram, a man valued at $900, nine hundred dollars, Hannah, a woman valued at $800, eight hundred dollars, Nanna, a mulatto girl valued at $500, five hundred dollars, Robert, a boy valued at $400, four hundred dollars, and Moses, a boy valued at $300, three hundred dollars, and also $70, seventy dollars, in cash in full satisfaction of my distributive share of his (my father’s) estate.” Witnessed by E.Q. Andrews, Benjamin Darsey, J.P. [Signed] Mary Stafford. Recorded on 28 March 1861 by Jesse Brewer, Clerk.
