William J. King, administrator of the estate of Benjamin B. King of McIntosh County, sold for $6000 to Thomas King on December 1, 1860: “the following negro slaves viz. Lucy, Pender, Nancy, Martha, Sara, Willoughby, Ellen, William, Andrew, Jack, Sara, and Stephen…” The sale was “by virtue of a decree of the Hon. Superior Court of said County obtained at the November term of said Court on the Equity side thereof wherein Sarah E. King et.al. was complt [complainant] and William J. King Adm. defendant.” Witnessed by Ann S. Anderson, C.W. Thorp, J.I.C.M.C. Recorded on 14 January 1861 by Jesse Brewer, C.S.C.L.C.
