By virtue of an order from the Judge of the Superior Court of the Eastern District authorizing Susan M. Jones, administrator of the estate of Charles B. Jones, to sell either publicly or privately “a certain negro slave named September, the property of said estate,” she sold him to William L. Walthour for $900 on July 13, 1858. Witnessed by Thomas King, Jos. A. Anderson Recorded on 12 November 1860 by Jesse Brewer, Clerk.
