Enslaved Persons Named: Young Rose, Phillis.

Edward Lawrence Winn, Chatham County, used as collateral on a debt to Peter W. Fleming, guardian of Alice G. Walthour, both of Liberty County, on March 1, 1860  “the following negro slaves, with the issue of the females (fiz): Young Rose 20 years, Phillis about 25 years of age.” Debt was for $600. Witnessed by W.L. Walthour, W.M. Stevens, T.F. Linder. Probated on 10 March 1860 by Thomas F. Linder before W.E.W. Quarterman, “one of the Justices of the Inferior Court.” Recorded on 28 April 1860 by Jesse Brewer, Clerk.
