Hugh McCullough [alt: McCollough] of Liberty County, planter. Last Will and Testament dated June 6, 1808; probated October 27, 1808. Gives to his brother, James McCullough and in event of his death then to cousins, Elizabeth Bennett and Margaret McCullough. Gives remainder of estate to his wife, Mary. Refers to slaves testator received from the estate of his father, James McCullough. Executors: Wife, Mary; brother-in-law, John Osgood. Witnesses: Dan’l. [Daniel] Sullivan, Esther Sullivan, Thos. [Thomas] Quarterman.

To brother James McCollough: “my negro man Anthony to him and to the heirs of his body forever but should he die leaving no issue (lawfully begotten) then said Negro Anthony to devolve to and become the property of my cousins, Elizabeth Bennet and Margaret McCollough for their equal benefit.”
Did not name the “part of my Negro property that I received my Father’s estate, viz. James McCullough” but directed that they should pass to his brother James McCollough if his wife were to die without children.
