On September 2, 1834, Thomas Williams, Chatham County, sold to Solomon Smith, Bryan County, for $425 “a certain negro girl by the name of Becca aged about eighteen years of age and of yellow complexion.” Witnessed by James N Bird, Joseph J Smith. Smith probated this record on September 6, 1834. Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on September 8, 1834.
