On March 5, 1832, William C. Footman, Bryan County, gifted to his wife, Mrs. Maria H. Footman, and her children Peter Oliver Footman, Mary Elizabeth and John Maxwell Footman, to be held in trust for them by Edward Footman, Bryan County, “the following negro slaves to wit, Prince, Nanny, and their children, Matilda, Little Prince, Henrietta, Binah and Mary, Huxina [?] and her children, Malissa, George, Sarah, Phebe, and Thomas, Harriet, Nelly & Caroline, Christmas, Chloe and Primus.” Recorded in Bryan County Superior Court on April 11, 1832.
